5.0 out of 5 stars A great investment!, 22 Nov 2004

Admittedly this isn't a book for beginners and it certainly isn't aimed at the web designers out there. But if your a serious .Net developer or have coding experience beyond simple scripting, you should consider it. This book covers everything you could need and is detailed and methodical. I have a number of asp.net books (about 15 in all) and this is one I go back to time and again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont bother, learn PHP., 20 Sep 2004
By A Customer
I bought this book as I am a web-designer and thought it would be good to learn, much like easy-peasy ASP. Unfortunately not. The book is pure Microsoft propaganda for about the first 40 pages, slagging off everything else which doesnt begin with 'MS'. There is no chapter to get you up to speed on the layout or basic features of ASP.NET and throws you totally in the deep-end with only a few examples of the code itself. Most of the useful features of ASP.NET are only compatible with the latest Internet Explorer browser or require you to purchase them. If you are new to web-development I would suggest sticking to normal ASP to begin with and then moving onto PHP once your serious. PHP's good performance, cross-platform compatibility, and with its source code freely available on the web means its a far more sensible choice.. www.php.net
