4.0 out of 5 stars This will become the bench mark for all future poker manuals, 24 Nov 2000
By A Customer
Do not be fooled or in any way put off by the title of this superb beginners manual on poker. While it is written in an extremely clear and easy to grasp way, it covers all the fundamental aspects and then some for the man or woman wishing to play any of the main poker variations. This book covers everything you will need to know to sit down at your first tournament or cash game, from betting strategy, what cards to play, poker etiquette and the all imporant positional considerations. Buy this book and it will MAKE you money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Critically Acclaimed Masterpiece for High-Rollin' Prospects, 7 Mar 2005
By R.M. Pruim (The Netherlands) - See all my reviews
This book has exceeded even my highly set expectations after reading reviews from my predecessors. The entire poker spectrum is dealt with creatively and with skillful flair. Your pace of reading is never obstructed by incomprehensible sentences or theories. It reads like watching a good movie: there is no way to stop reading, unless you doze off after several hours, and you remain constantly fascinated wanting more. Notice however that if you're looking for advanced poker theories, this would not be the right choice for you. Any other player, from beginner to somewhat experienced, will gain a lot from this excellent reference guide. Bottomline: A must-have before plunging into the vast virtual library of poker literature.
