2.0 out of 5 stars Poor, 11 Sep 2002
By A Customer
As the first review said, the idea here is good (Wow, ASP.net in a weekend!), but the book really isn't. Firstly, it doesn't really seem to know what level it is aimed at. Secondly, there is far too much text and no diagrams, making it hard and sometimes difficult to follow. Lastly, compared to other books I've worked through, it just doesn't read well. A real struggle to get through.

1.0 out of 5 stars Is this "Weekend Crash Writing"?, 7 Aug 2002
The intention is good, but unfortunately the text leaves too many open questions and unclear points, and it does not manage to follow up and use the example, explained and built in the beginning, throughout the book, which is quite confusing and distracting. In addition the text contains too many errors. The book does not work well as a reference either.

At last, I would say, you are not done in 15 hours (of course), unless you are an expert already, and then this book would not be of interest anyway. So, I would not recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe not in a weekend but still..., 17 Jan 2006

Ok, Maybe not the best book for beginners but if you already have some experience with developing database driven web applications in another language and just want to swap over to ASP.NET then buy this book. I found it easy to read and quick to the point, unlike many of the other ASP.NET books that spent to much time going into details\information on topics that I learnt from studying other languages.

A big thumbs up from me.
