3.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant for pure NDS Design, forget the NDS for NT., 27 Mar 2000

I used this book for revising the Novell NDS design exam - the first four chapters are classic material for this. The last section, covering NDS for NT, would have been better positioned as an appendix. Apart from that, the NDS4NT coverage is now out of date. They should not have changed the original title.

In short: as an NDS design methodology guide it gets 5 stars; as an NDS4NT guide it gets 1 star.

If you want material on NT integration with Netware 5, check out "Novell's Guide to Integrating NetWare 5 and NT" - ISBN 0-7645-4580-9, also by IDG Books. It covers the subject of NDS4NT in greater depth, it explores a wider range of integration issues, and it is still current.

This book seems to be aimed at people who use NT and don't know NDS. Only the last 2 capters cover the actual product "NDS 4 NT", and it doesn't really tell you much more than whats in the documentation. If your looking for a book which concentrates on troubleshooting, this is not it. Very nice graphics and a good book for those who wantg/need to learn about NDS.
