It has some wonderful introduction chapters to help beginners catch up to speed. The book then rapidly progresses to some more complex examples for the advanced users.

You can use this book by either working your way though chapter by chapter, or simply reference sections when you get stuck on a project.

The more advanced developers/designers will be very excited to know that there is a chapter based on 2advanced.com. Although it doesn't give away any source or show you how they made their site, the people from 2advanced.com talk you though the project development process.

This book covers everything!! And totalling 1270 wonderful pages, you will unlikely ever get board of this book.

If you want some hard core ActionScript lessons, I seriously suggest Flash MX Action Script Bible as well.

To give you a very rough overview of the book:

1. Introduction to Flash Web Production
2. Mastering the Flash Environment
3. Creating Animation & Effects
4. Integrating Media Files with Flash
5. Adding Basic Interactivity to Flash Movies
6. Distributing Flash Movies
7. Approaching Action Script
8. Optimising and Troubleshooting Flash Movies

I know this breakdown sounds more like a beginners book, but I promise that it goes though some complex and wonderful examples.

I have chosen some key chapters that I think are particularly useful, aimed more for the advanced users. Basically I have emitted the beginner chapters. Incidentally there is a total of 45 chapters.
