4.0 out of 5 stars The best introduction to photoshop I have found, 23 Nov 2001
By A Customer
In a crowded market this book stands out as a fine guide to the basics of a powerful program.
It is well laid out and comprehensive in coverage; the first guide I have found to list keyboard shortcuts.
All of the functions are explained, with more detail given to the common ones. This makes it a useful reference whilst carrying out a task and a source of just about all the techniques and information a beginner would need.
I thoroughly recommend it to beginners who are struggling to use, what I at least, found to be a puzzling and at times exasperating piece of software. At last my results are satisfying and I am encouraged to move on to more advanced work with the aid of this excellent book. By the way the price is real world too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What I Needed!, 28 Aug 2009
By Seaside Sue (Sussex England) - See all my reviews
A really good book - it is detailed but very clear and explains things in a way which those who are not as computer literate as they would like to be can understand. The detailed contents list at the front is very good for finding a topic quickly. The step by step examples have good detailed labelling and the pictures of exactly what the screen should be displaying are a great help. An excellent tutorial book to work through and as also a reference book to dip into for the functions I don't often use and need to revise.
