3.0 out of 5 stars Too slow. . . ., 10 Jun 2000
By A Customer
'For Dummies' books. Bought by millions (or so the cover says). If you are completely new to the web and Windows in general for that matter, then this is the book for you. If on the other hand you would rather open up the book and within the first few pages, be creating at least some sort of framework to a website, then I really would not recommend this book. I found it explaining the smallest of things to an extent that by the beginning of Chapter 3 I found myself desperately jumping entire chapters to get some sort of 'reward' for all of the reading that I was doing. The simple fact is that reading explanations on what the 'undo' button is for and how to make your text italic becomes mind numbingly boring if you are an 'everyday' Windows user. Lots of writing, few examples.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Excellent!, 23 May 2000

If you are a neophyte to web design or, if you just need a handy reference -- this book is a must. I created my site without this book using the MS Premium 2000 manual - I would not recommend this route - even though successful, life would have been so, so much easier with this wonderful book. It is my first taste of 'Dummies' but if they are all this good it won't be my last. Tremendous value, a great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I have ever read., 24 Mar 2000

If you wish to learn Frontpage, then this is the book for you. The best £20.00 I have ever spent. I have spent many a hour reading this book and I am not ashamed to admit it. Shame about the CD included in the book because it is a complete waste of time.
