A massive amount of data collected in this book, 20 May 2002
This book covers the battles of the 1st SS Panzer Corps during February & March of 1942. To my knowledge this is the first book to cover what was the largest victory won by SS troops in the entire war.The book itself is excellent, but.....There are so many syntax errors in the text ranging from getting east and west wrong, which I cant count the number of time that happens. (The only reason I know this is because I have Wehrmacht maps of the region)Also I found very annoying the fact that there are two photographs of the same German Soldier, which are labelled as two different men! The author has obviously put a lot of time and effort into the book, for which he must be praised. I would have given this book 5 stars, but for the publishers mistakes, which should have easily shown up when it was proof read. Mistakes asside, it is a valuable contribution to our understanding of the viollent battles that raged across the Ukraine during 1942/43 which culminated in the battles covered in this book.
