Book Description
A Tragic Accident or a Suicide Mission?

In the year 2012, Valkerie Jansen, a young microbial ecologist, is presented with an amazing opportunity to continue her research as a member of the NASA corps of astronauts. When a sudden resignation opens the door for her to be a part of a mission to Mars, her life dream becomes a reality.

Dreams turn suddenly to nightmares for NASA and the crew as an explosion cripples the spacecraft on the outward voyage. The crew's survival depends on complete trust in one another—but is one of the four the saboteur?

5.0 out of 5 stars A true page-turner, 2 Oct 2001
Set in the near-future, Oxygen is a truly fascinating book, and once started, the pages almost turn themselves!

A mission to Mars. It's a great topic, and this book tries to get there using technology that's mostly available now. John Olson and Randy Ingermanson successfully combine science-fiction, suspense, intrigue and mystery with a twist of romance, giving a real page-turner. I would recommend it heartily.

Follow Valkerie and her fellow astronauts as they prepare for, and then embark upon, the mission of a life-time. As the dream of going to Mars gradually becomes a nightmare, watch the frightened and suspicious crew as they look for a saboteur. Not knowing who to trust and who to turn to, the astronauts must rely on their own skills, knowledge, survival instinct and intuition as they fight to make their mission a success.

Follow the problems this team of astronauts encounter, their successes and disasters. Share in their tears and their joy, listen in as they ask tough questions, and begin to question things they have always believed.

A thought-provoking and very readable novel. Hard to put down. I'd heartily recommend it, and can't wait for another book from these two top authors.
