This is the first book to give information more than just the standard, such as size of cage, feeding, illnesses etc. It gives tips to children (my son sat and read through from cover to cover), tips to combat behaviour problems, how to handle your pet.

It also emphasises the need to allow your hamster freedom and ideas to do so, and what not to provide him with!! We have gained added pleasure from our hamsters for reading it.

Very good book, anything you need to know - it's in it.

I have read nearly all the hamster books on Amazon and all have their pros and cons but this one sets the standard. It contains useful and accurate information on homing to diseases. It is written to be precise but not to flumox those non-technically minded. As a hamster breeder, the information held in this book is up-to-date and doesn't have any negatives. If you get one book related to hamsters then get this one.
