I found this book useful but it does say in the preface that this book assumes that you have basic knowledge of dog care and that if you need beginner information that you should consult Dr Coile's more introductory book, 'Chihuahuas, A complete pet owners manual.

I first brought this book when i purchased my chihuahua (Bobby) and it has been very helpful in understanding his behaviour. There are chapters on the history of the chihuahua, purchasing, nutrition, grooming, etc. The sections on training and health care have been excellent, i have trained my dog simple commands within a few weeks! The health care section is in depth and now i know what is normal or abnormal. There are also a lot of cute colour pictures of this amazing dog in this very informative book.
