I am a new comer to the snake world, but I am happy to say that the photographs in this book have made me want a pet snake more than ever! I would like to thank the photographer for such a wonderful spread and differentiation in the photos. The Taiwan Beauty Snake is simply stunning!

Chris Newmans book would make an excellent first time read for the novice snake keeper. Aimed at the younger reader this book covers all the 'need to know' aspects of Herpeteculture (The keeping of reptiles). Advice on which snake would make the right one for you is particularly helpful and honest. Let down only by an over reliance on unproven theories on the evolution of snakes, this book is full of nice photos, particularly the ones by Fred Holmes. A good starter book to help you as you go
