This book gives a basic outline of rat care, including how to introduce yourself and your kids to the rats, basic handling, feeding and cage furniture.

However, it also includes some big no-nos (including the one about using saw dust as bedding, which can lead to bad respiratory problems in rats), so should probably not be used as the only point of info.

Its colourful and has all the information you need. thats really all i can say because its just prefect for a new owner of rats or a 2ndary owner of fancy rAtS.

This book about rats is a good book generally but offers information which is quite wrong. The information about offering pine wood shavings as the most suitable bedding for rats is totally wrong, as any experienced and well researched rat owner should know. Pine wood shavings can have severe effects on a rat's health, and so it is worrying that a new owner might read this book and take its bad advice.
