I love this book. I received mine a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to read it. After having looked and read through this book I just wanted to share my thoughts.

To say that this book is 'Beautiful' is an understatement!! It really is such an impressivly beautiful book that is so well presented throughout. It is hardbacked with glossy pages and many, many photos - some I had never seen before! It covers all the films Marilyn done with her time at the Fox studios and has some great behind the scenes info and pictures, it is so interesting and is a great insight to 'Marilyn' the Actress!

This, in my opinion, is a real rare 'Gem' of a book and one that no Marilyn fan should be without!!....I know you will love this book! :-) Enjoy!

Where Marilyn Monroe is concerned, a picture really is worth a thousand words. Some of the most sumptuous picture books have chosen her as the subject. 'Platinum Fox' is dedicated to Marilyn's image and film career, rather than her private life. It is wonderfully designed in a vivid, retro style evoking the 1950s, the decade when Marilyn became the world's sexiest icon. Fox was the studio where her career began and ended, and each of her productions, from bit parts to blockbusters, is covered in detail. Some film stills and publicity shots included here have never been seen before. The text lacks some depth, but is light and entertaining, with character profiles, snippets of dialogue and trivia related to the making of the films. The main downside of the book is it doesn't cover some of the great work Marilyn achieved outside her home studio, from early gems like The Asphalt Jungle to classics like Some Like It Hot. But it is still a great introduction to Marilyn's life as an actress, and a testament to her extraordinary love affair with the camera.

"MARILYN MONROE PLATINUM FOX",is a great book on this legendary actress MARILYN MONROE[1926-1962]who was also a stunningly beautiful woman as well as a very fine comedic actress.Her real name was NORMA JEAN MORTENSON,also known as NORMA JEAN BAKER,she was born on June 1,1926,in or around Los Angeles,raised mainly with foster families-only sometimes with her mother.It appears both her birth and tragic death are mysterious.
This large book itself has some 260 pages plus hundreds of stunning colour and black and white photographs of Marilyn as well as some of her legendary film costars.Many of these photos have not been published before.As well as detailing about Monroe's childhood,family,it also gives full indepth reviews on "most" of her nearly 30 films that she made-including reproductions from the original colour film posters.In the "main" book section,it does not cover/or show photos of the following "three" Monroe films-THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL-,SOME LIKE IT HOT-,THE MISFITS-,as these are "not"-Twentieth[20th]Century-Fox Films-.But they are mentioned and included in the complete Filmography section-at back end of book.
This books author-Cindy De La Hoz-has also written "two" other great books about two other beautiful and legendary actresses on LUCILLE BALL and LANA TURNER,the latter co-written with Lana's daughter Cheryl Crane.
For fans of MARILYN MONROE this is an excellent book and a MUST HAVE.
Another great book and read on this actress is the-MARILYN HANDBOOK-by Mike Evans,published in 2004 by MQ Publications Ltd.With some 420 pages[but a much smaller size book]and it also covers Marilyn's life and her film career-with more than 200 of stunning black and white and colour photos.Also includes a full detailed description of all her films,with film photos and coloured reproductions of film posters.Another great book on this beautiful legend.
