On the whole this is a standard guide/walk-through book to the game. However, just like the game in question, it also has some funny comments.

The page layout is very good, with all maps to each area clearly labelled with the position of bonus items and traps. The whole game is explained in detail, and offers suggestions for the best combination of weapons and summons spells to use for certain levels....and even which method of talking to characters works best...either being nice or nasty.

This is an excellent guide for all of you that are stuck on a level, or those wishing to find those extra items. 5 Stars!!

This book is hardly invaluable, because the Bard's Tale isn't the toughest nut to crack, but it's still worth having. It's got some nice extras and contains every last piece of information you could possibly need. Pretty good!

Here is something important that isn't mentioned anywhere else. This book is for the Xbox and the PS2 only. Nevertheless the walkthrough still works okay for the PC. The maps are also okay for the PC, but you have to turn them 90 degrees anti-clockwise because the PC version maps from a different starting point. These points aside, if you own a PC version of the Bards Tale, this book is still worth getting.
