First off, I'm usually a fan of Prima guides and this one is the exception to the rule. Prima have tried their best here but ultimately it was doomed to failure from the start.

City Of Heroes is a MMORPG and just 8 months after the game being released, this guide is hugely out of date. The guide has no mention of new zones that have been added and it's power guides are already out of date as many of these powers have already been completely changed.

The other main reason this guide is flawed is because there are actually no 'secrets' in the game. OK, some shops may be a little hard to find but nothing in the game is hidden and just asking over one of the chat channel will get you the answer infinitely quicker than pulling the guide out and looking it up.

All in all, a valiant attempt and kudos to Prima for the attempt. However, the basic nature of MMORPG's makes them almost impossible to write guides for unless they are online and updated everytime the game is.

I thought I should point this out first. I am giving it the benifit of the doubt and setting it at 4 stars. Prima guides tend to be good, however like all Massively Multiplayer Online Games how they work can change from month to month and instruction booklets can go out of date quite fast.

An example is badges and capes were added in Edition #2 of COH. Edition #3 will be out soon and will have more content again. So make sure if you are buying the book you buy the most recent version.

the book like any other strategy guide tells all the secrets and hidden things very helpful but like always no cheats a bit of a shame really!1
but still a great book with alot of help.
