Having slogged away at the game for some hours before obtaining this book, the Fire Emblem strategy guide certainly helped me to discover those little secrets that surely only the greatest gaming anorak could otherwise find.
Fire Emblem is a long and complex game (but excellent nonetheless!), and the Guide is written well enough to fill in gaps where the game instructions aren't that clear. It's well illustrated and provides a little more background on the numerous key characters you'll come across during the game - both friend and foe.
The temptation that must be avoided is to let the book play the game for you - fortunately it is sufficently vague that you still have to make most key decisions yourself, but it does give you the reassurance that you're not missing anything big!

Overall, well worth the investment. Where's the Guide for Fire Emblem II?
