The title of this book is a little bit innaccurate as it leads you to believe the whole thing is a detailed guide to the creation of the computer game "URU".
The 1st 192 pages are in fact a "walkthrough" idiots guide to the game and the making of forms the last part of the book. If I want guided by the hand through a computer game I'll ask my children to show me.
That said, the making of guide is detailed, has lovely illustrations and is worth the price on its own. There are some fascinating insights into the creation of one of the most artistic games ever.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants more background to the creation of computer games in general and URU in particular but I just wish the game guide element had been more obvious.
