2.0 out of 5 stars Some Help?!!, 11 Sep 2003
I am a massive, massive fan of the Championship Manager series, and within hours of my first sacking on Championship Manager 4 I ordered the tip booklet to point me in the right direction.

Alas my hopes faded as this book offered little advice, rather just offering more indepth description of what is already in the instruction book. (Ie overviews of international leagues etc)

I would have found it useful to have more case studies, ie summary diaries of managers at verious teams, how they did, and why they think they failed or succeeded.

1.0 out of 5 stars IT'S A WASTE OF TIME!!!, 22 May 2003
By A Customer
I strongly reccomend you don't buy this book, all they've done is elaborate the instructions booklet. They included a large segment on training telling you what each training plan does i.e. shooting increases shooting stats and so on, but they've copied it word for word off the game screen, you could just read it there, and they didn't include how to make an ideal plan, there's nothing in this book that makes the game any easier, there is a guide to players in the back, but nothing any football fan doesn't know, you can get better lists off the internet, save your money!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so, 15 April 2003
By I E G Miles (Epsom, Surrey United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Wanting to get as much from the excellent CM4 as possible - particularly around training, tactics, maximising player potential etc - I eagerly purchased the official strategy guide. However, despite one or two gems of information and advice scattered throughout the guide, this is really just an extension of the manual that accompanies the game. That said, it is generally an entertaining read, and despite the fact that the guide is in my view over-priced, enough CM nuts will willingly part with the cash, so fair's fair.

Ive said it all in the game review. Rubbish! No help whatsoever, nothing more than what the instruction booklet tells you. Read more
