2.0 out of 5 stars Not a lot to it..., 22 Mar 2002
This book is a good starting place for the beginner, but I wouldn't recommend it beyond that. The only information of use for those with any experience is the agent/producer/director contacts at the back. Some of them aren't WGA registered which seems like a major oversight for any kind of listing.

The book contains some interesting information, but to me was sloppily put together and didn't flow particularly logically. The writer also does not seem to have had a lot of experience, but he obviously has had a lot of contact with industry professionals who contribute to this volume.

If you're starting out, this is a useful resource, but if you are looking for help with structure, character, dialogue, etc then look elsewhere. The best book (IMHO) is The Complete Guide to Screenwriting by J. Michael Straczynski.
