Product Description

From the Author

A very funny yet practical book written for new dads.
I wrote "The Joy of Fatherhood" to help dads through a wonderful but often challenging first year. Teaching the "nuts and bolts" of child care, as well as the importance of a "team" approach, I help the new dad understand and accept seemingly opposite feelings-joy, on the one hand, and frustration, even anger, on the other. Filled with tips, advice and instruction (how to pick a babysitter, how to save money for your baby, how to play with your baby etc.), "The Joy of Fatherhood" has it all! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's the "What to Expect...from Fatherhood", 4 Jun 1999
By A Customer
A friend gave this to my husband after my son was born. It was like an instruction book for a first time dad. We both had a lot of fun sharing the much needed advice. Easy to read even with lack of sleep.

4.0 out of 5 stars Answers the Questions Fathers are Afraid to Ask, 27 May 1999
By A Customer
I think the reviewer from New England missed the point. This book is a humorous but informative book about being a father to a newborn. It deals with the kinds of things that come up that you won't find in a more general baby guide. What about sex with my wife after childbirth? How will the baby change my place in the family? These are the kinds of questions fathers think about, but might be afraid or embarrassed to say. That's why the book is worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly entertaining and practical !!, 27 May 1999
By A Customer
How could one book be so chock full of practical tips and humorous views of what fatherhood is all about? Dr. Goldman is full of loving observations of what it means to be an involved dad and a sensitive spouse. This book offers tons of suggestions for dads on how to bond with baby, care for baby's needs and safety, understand baby, and more. In short, this is an invaluable map for charting a course that, for many men, is in mysterious territory. Buy one for yourself and for a friend or two!!
