Details

As the author, I am proud to have created a book readers seem to be truly enjoying. My intent was to put together the best book on Web promotion and ensure that readers of all skill levels could use it. Based on reader comments and reviews of the book, I think I've achieved that. Thanks for your support!

Thousands of Web publishers have created Web sites to sell products and services, or simply to share ideas. Often, they are disappointed with the results they've achieved through Web publishing. They create wonderful pages yet get only a few visitors. These publishers may think their ideas, interests and products aren't interesting but nothing could be further from the truth. With nearly 50 million Web users from dozens of countries around the world, the Web has an extremely diverse audience, yet trying to tap into the tremendous potential of the Web can be a daunting task. Enter Increase Your Web Traffic In a Weekend. Using the tasks explored in the book, you will be able to attract a following to your Web site; gain an audience for your ideas; and promote your Web site to the world.

Over the years, my advice has helped Web publishers, programmers, and developers all over the world. To date, I've written eight computer books, including several bestsellers. Beyond books, I am a regular columnist and features writer for magazines, like PC Magazine. Some of my work in PC Magazine includes "Structuring Data with XML", "Object-based Web Design", "Essential HTML 4.0", "Pushing the Envelope with Push Technology", and "Distributed Programming with CORBA and IIOP."

My goal in creating Increase Your Web Traffic In a Weekend was to give you a quick and easy guide to everything you need to know to promote the heck out of your Web site. I truly hope you find this book to be the best resource book you've ever bought.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive. Saved my job!, 19 May 1999
By A Customer
I'm a web admin and work with web promotion everyday. I thinnk this is the best promo book and I've read several others. Its got practical application that other books just don't have. Mr. Stanke starts you out right and teaches you what makes a site better, how to understand who is visiting and why. Tons and tons of great resources and ideas. The promo ideas are the best.

I don't like the outright attacks that I read in another review on the book and suspect someone other author. On page 173 - 176 the book discussed what the author called "unconventional promotion that may be considered spam." Mr. Stanek carefully outlined the fact that there could be a penalty for using techniques such as same color text and hidden text. And that penalty could be delisting from a search engine. The addition material on what to do and what not to do is important and needed.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is a fake., 25 April 1999
By A Customer
The author's blurb tells us he fought Saddam Hussein. Thecover quotes Denis wright, david taylor and other fictioal nonentities to praise the book. I am convinced the author or his buddies wrote al the glowing reviews. Page 55-73 are just logs. Absolutely no information. Just like the rest of the book. Mr Stanek, go back to your day time job.
