For someone who is just getting "into" body modification, this is a fantastic book as a basis, but as only that. It only scratches the surface. The thing that worries me is that it seems the whole book is just a giant footnote. Every other line has a footnote attatched to it, and it seems the author has just got lots of information from different sources and summarised it into one book. If you're more advanced in your knowledge of body modification, this isn't the book for you.

This book is a very interesting and informative read if you are into tattoo's, piecings and their history.It contains good colour photo's of various forms of body art going back to cultures and original tribal markings, a must for anyone interested in these subjects.Useful for the tattooist or anyone looking for something different to decorate their body with.
