If your kids aren't too squeamish then this has got to be a must-have educational and laughter inducing activity. My daughters loved it, at first apprehensive, then a little bit revolted and finally, genuinely interested and thrilled with the discoveries they made dissecting the Owl Puke. The accompanying book is pitched just write with gross-out pictures, plus facts and full animal identifying charts. Once you've finished your first pellet you can purchase new (sterilised) pellets from the States.

Last Christmas I gave this as a gift to my friend's 9 year old son. This Christmas I am kicking myself because I know that nothing else I can buy will compete. He couldn't wait to get dissecting and worked away at his pellet for hours without a break because he was so fascinated by all his discoveries (he got very lucky - his pellet had two skulls in). If you know a budding young scientist, you simply won't find them a better gift. This is just wonderful, and next year I am hoping to be organised enough to just buy him a load of the sterilised replacement pellets in time for Christmas. Who would have though owl puke could make a child so happy?
