Probably the most entertaining Porsche book I have read., 16 Dec 2001
By A Customer
I am not a big Porsche fan - I prefer Italian cars - but skimming through this book in the shop, I realised that this book only covers the most exciting (and rare) cars produced by Porsche. All the important ones are there: 904, 906, 908, 930, 917 etc. But there are also a couple of unusual cars I never knew existed (I'm no Porsche expert but I am enough of a gear head that I would normally have known of these cars.). This is not a complete, detailed history of everything Porsche did on 4 wheels. Nit-pickers look elsewhere to satisfy your sad addiction. If, however, you appreciate raw, focussed, thrilling motorsport, you should love this book. My favourite bit: Tony Dron, calculating that he spent over 4 hours of his life oversteering at above 150mph, most of it in the 934. If you don't appreciate that, sell your car and start taking the bus.
