Product Description

Product Description

Anytime, anyplace, Ethan Crane's your man. An agent's agent, he's tough, smart, and fearless. Exactly the guy you want when the stuff hits the fan - and precisely the kind Beth Whitney avoids like the plague. It took a fiance (make that ex-fiance) in the business to teach her, but she's learned her lesson: Don't. Date. Agents. Ever. It's this little rule that's kept her gainfully employed at the agency, doing her part for world security from behind a desk. So when a case throws the two together, Beth's determined to keep it strictly professional. So far, so good - except for the steamy kisses, the red-hot phone sex, and...What was that rule again? To Ethan, Beth couldn't be less his type if her father ran the agency, which, oh yeah, her father does run the agency. Still he can't help but be impressed by her inspired work in the field - a total turn on. Off the field it's even better. Seems the old adage that opposites attract happens to agents too. Even if Beth insists it's just a fantasy. But hot pursuit of a notorious information broker is what they should focus on - not each other. That can wait until they've accomplished a job well done. Or can it?

4.0 out of 5 stars A good holiday read!, 24 Aug 2007
By Noosh "Nu" (Sheffield) - See all my reviews
This follows on from Lucy Monroe's books ready, willing, and able. In the final book of the triology you meet Ethan and this is his story. Ethan works for a company and is a spy. The daughter of the owner of the company is the assistant who sorts everything out (but her dad hopes she will join the company in a more involved role). When her dad hires her ex-fiance to be part of the team she is thrown as this is the man that left her at the alter and her dad has just hired him. Ethan doesn't like the way he looks at her either. The story progresses with both being thrown into a mission; one that neither of them want. The mutual attraction starts to grown and scares both of them as niether want to be involved in any serious commitment. There are some wonderful moments and some great poassionate bits!!
This is a great series and well worth a read!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Never Again!, 17 Aug 2007
By M. A. Dennis "marganne45" (Shoreham By Sea, West Sussex. England) - See all my reviews

This book should have come under the heading of a Sex Manual, because, frankly that is what is really in it, barely any story, and what there was of it was wrapped up literally in a few pages at the end. I never knowned the sexual act to take so many pages, in the end I was thinking, for goodness sake just get on with it so maybe we can have some sort of story!.. but unfortunately after this marathon we were subjected to various other little half marathons, if this was supposed to be a super senior agent, all I can say god help the rest of these agents, all this guy could ever do was think with what was between his legs, there did not seem much of a brain cell anywhere else. Needless to say I will not be purchasing anymore of this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable romance, but...., 12 Jan 2009
By C. Y. Davidson "Voraciousforbooks" (South London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I only gave this book three stars because though it was an enjoyable romance, there was one aspect of the story that didn't ring true. Beth Whitney's parents are cold, emotionless people. When she was growing up they weren't there for her emotionally and often physically, as both parents were too career orientated to make time for things that were important to young Beth, like the school plays that everyone else's parents turned up to. She was told repeatedly that she was too emotional. Emotions being distasteful to her politically minded mother and the Dad who was dedicated to his agency.

It never really makes sense to me, that Beth works for her father. It's an obvious plot device that doesn't work for me. Then there is the so transparent, it has clingfilm all over it, part of the plot that really makes no sense; in that the father who is so unemotional and cold is seccretly matchmaking for his intelligent daughter and an agent who is supposedly 'on the ball' and notices everything. This is the same parent who has no problem being chummy with her ex-fiance who humiliated his daughter by standing her up at the altar. The whole matchmaking is supposed to charm the reader but for me it just smacks of manipulation. I kept waiting for Ethan to say 'You do realise what your father's up to don't you?' Or for Beth to say something, but when Beth is nearly hurt on her first real mission, does anyone cantact the supposedly 'caring' father of course not. So I found myself irritated with the book when I shouldn't have been.
