Of the 3 stories in this series this is my favorite. This story is Claire and Nitro's (Brett). You met Brett and Claire in the previous books and they become endearing in those and you really want them together. In this story Claire is living in Josie's house and Brett is installing the security system to keep her safe but that ultmately doesn't happen as someone breaks into the house and tries to kill her.....Brett rides to the rescue and tries to solve the mystery as claire is sure she hasn't done anything wrong.

As i have become use to with Monroe's stories she creates vibrant characters that you become involved with. When it become apparant why Claire is being threatned Brett and the others take care of it for her. The burning theme through this book is Bretts insistance that he doesn't want to Love again (Previous hurt) and pushes Claire away therefore when he realises he loves her can Claire believe him especially since there is something else that could be the reason he is telling her he loves her?

This is a totally brilliant read either on it's own or at the end of the series. I loved this book the most out of all of them and all 3 are fab! Buy this i promise you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters Claire and Brett aka Hotwire were very likable and I just couldn't put the book down. The storyline was very good, it wasn't just a sex and a little action story (Willing was a bit like that), there was a very good storyline to this book.

Ready was my favorite book of the 3 but this is in second place.
If you like the other 2 books then definately read this. It was a very good book.

Ok, so if you're being terribly picky then this book has problems. By about 30 pages in you want to take Claire and shake her 'til she stops being a numpty! And the whole "I can't love again as I promised my ex-fiance after she died that my heart belonged to her..." thing with Hotwire is just plain daft. But even the most perfect diamond has to have flaws (or is that a contradiction in terms???!)

This is a genuinely good book. Like the others in the series, Lucy Monroe writes her alpha men well and makes them really likeable. You don't mind so much that Hotwire seems to be sensible, intelligent common sense guy in every aspect other than his weird "won't love again" theme because you are rooting for him from the start. And much as though as Claire is portrayed as dismally naive in some ways you kind of want to associate with her because she has so many likeable traits.

More than anything this novel is a demonstration of how powerful making the core characters likeable can be. This could have little or no plot (which thankfully isn't the case) or could meander around for another 100 pages (which again thankfully it doesn't!) but you'd forgive it because you want to read more about these nice people.

As with "Ready" this is a simple story (albeit totally far fetched!) where Claire (a ditzy IT student working part time in a nursing home) is protected by the ever useful to have handy ex SEAL Hotwire (ok if my name was Brett I'd change it to Hotwire too...) when her friend in the nursing home (a retired assassin) is killed to protect his "kill book" (now you see I really meant it when I said far fetched!)

But here simple works. In fact, I'd go so far as to say simple rocks! Read and enjoy. (Oh and appreciate that after the first two books with their Great Universal / Kays Catalogue covers, it looks as though they've finally upgraded to the Next Directory for the cover of "Able". Least he's in a nice suit rather than dreary knitwear...)
