its a new term and with the old gang moving on to college etc we are introduced to a new crowd of upper east side kids. they party harder and get into more trouble who would have though it possible.

great way to continue the series!!!

This book is so brilliant.

Owen, Avery and Baby Carlyle have just moved into a notorious Upper East Side penthouse (where Blair used to live) and they're about to take the city by storm with their decadent behaviour.

All the scandal and intrigue of the first series and a whole new cast of characters to love (and hate!).

The Carlyles - Gossip Girl series takes the books in a new direction in that (apart from slight references) it no longer focuses on the original characters of Blair, Nate, Serena, Dan, Jenny and Chuck. In the Carlyles we see that our original characters have moved on and a new set is brought in. Namely based on the three Carlyle triplets, Baby, Owen and Avery, grandchildren of society-woman, Avery Carlyle (whom young Avery is named after).

The books concentrate on the arrival of the triplets in New York and their interactions with New York's Upper East Side characters, Jack, Jiffy, JP and others - also new to the series.

All in all - this book is enjoyable, as with the original GG series, I couldn't put it down and I am looking forward to reading the second and anticipated third books in the series. Just like Cecily Von Ziegesar's original Gossip Girl books, they're funny, bitchy and interesting - you simply won't be able to put it down! If you liked the original GG books then this series is a must-read.
