In the summer of 1965, when rock and roll music fills the dance halls and a new era is dawning, the Marvell factory in Grafton is buzzing with life. As the sound of the sixties sings out from the factory Tannoy, the extraordinary stories behind the lives of the workers within unfold. For factory life is never a simple life, as there's always more going on than meets the eye.



About the Author
Wendy Robertson grew up in the North of England, one of four children whose widowed mother, an ex-nurse, worked in a factory. Wendy has worked as a teacher and lecturer, gaining a Masters whilst also writing short stories, articles, a column in the Northern Echo and novels for young adults. At present, she is Writer In Residence at Long Newton Prison.
