But, crucially, there are hundreds of top tips and suggestions from other mums - the members of netmums.com, the rapidly-growing online community of mothers sharing valuable information on all aspects of childcare. It's real advice for real women, and is guaranteed to put the fun back into family life.

About the Author

Former marketing director Siobhan Freegard founded Netmums in 2000, while on maternity leave with her second child, largely to help address issues of isolation amongst new mothers. The network quickly grew beyond her Harrow locale to become nationwide and now boasts 500,000 members, with 2,000 new members joining every week. Netmums has been voted by Which? among their ‘101 Websites That Will Change Your Life’. Hollie Smith is a freelance journalist specialising in parenting and health. She has written for various women's weekly magazines as well as for the Mirror and the Daily Mail.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book from the netmums team, 29 Feb 2008
By J. McGinley "Joules Mac" (Kent UK) - See all my reviews

I love the netmums website so it great to have all their advice and support in a book at well for those times when I am really pressed for time. They seem to have a great balance between professional advice and advice from members which makes it really easy to read, especially when you recognise members names from the forum!! Really loved the food advice, made me realise that the problems I have with feeding my children are entirely normal but there is a way out.

5.0 out of 5 stars best parenting book ever, 6 Mar 2008
By pale rider (Truro, Cornwall United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I am new to netmums but this book which features all kinds of really useful, sensible, tried-and-tested advice from real mums as well as experts such as child psychologists and nutrition experts, is just brilliant. I recommend it to anyone with 'toddling to ten' children - it is on the mums' side and doesn't make you feel guilty or inadequate. A problem shared is a problem halved. I shall tell all my friends about this book - thank you netmums!

5.0 out of 5 stars When mum's get together, 20 Jun 2008
By Mrs. C. E. Annals "Claire Annals" (Nottinghamshire, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When a group of mum's get together, inevitably, the conversation comes round to those embarrassing topics - like the contents of a nappy or how to deal with 'those' questions. The netmums team have managed to bring this 'girlie chat' feel in book form (for dad's too). It tackles all of those subjects and more in a lighthearted but informative way. It's one I will be dipping into for many years to come.
