Product Description
When Jennifer returns to the resort village where she grew up, she finds a series of letters in which a relative reveals a huge secret she has concealed for decades: that her great love is not the man she married. Jennifer herself thinks she could never love again, but before she knows it, is caught up in the greatest flight of exhilaration she's ever known. Then, just as suddenly, she learns that this new love comes with an unbearable cost...

5.0 out of 5 stars a page turner, 19 Aug 2004

If you feel like losing yourself in a book which makes you hunger for the next page , then this is the one for you!
Slowly , the story of Jennifer's past experiences creeps upon you , until you feel as if this is something you have experienced with your best friend. You feel her sadness, her hope and the love which she has for her family and in particular her beloved grandmother. When she eventually starts to read her grandmothers letters you come to appreciate the closeness of family ties and when she meets her new love you are rooting every step of the way and wishing for a happy ending. This book successfully involves the reader emotionally without being mushy and probably the only criticsm is that it isn't long enough to include all the history you would like to know about Jennifer's past. Definitely a good holiday read!

4.0 out of 5 stars A must read for any fan, 31 Oct 2004
After "Suzanne's diary...." I felt I just had to read this. Within the first pages came the first twist, I had to re-read just to make sure I had followed the plot correctly. It then moved along at a cracking pace but I was wondering just where it was going. I think it was only my knowledge of James Pattersons work and feeling sure that another twist was coming, that made me persevere but, about two thirds through (it is only a short book), I was hooked! What a marvelous story. You must read it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Scarey to think a man wrote this book, 22 Aug 2004
A beautiful tale of love. For anyone who's ever loved and lost, this book will tug at your heart strings. I felt like Patterson had been watching parts of my life and had written about them. A real page turner.
