5.0 out of 5 stars Long awaited - not disappointed, 3 April 2005
By Mrs. Carrie Smith (London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Tuesday's Child (Hardcover)
I have devoured Louise Bagshawe's novels ever since receiving "The Movie" free with a magazine. Her style has grown up with her and the slightly embarrassing sex scenes of her earlier books are gone. What I love about this book (and the previous one Monday's Child) is the down to earth nature of her characters. They are immesely likeable and the research is done very well. You can tell that Louise has researched her material well (I loved the references to Star Wars Galaxies which my computer loving husband has confirmed was spot on!). She knows her London locations well despite living in America. (Although being a South Londoner I found myself asking why the character gets out at Kennington when her office is at the Oval. These are chick-lit books for those who hate the slightly tacky American ones on the market but aren't quite old enough to be perusing the large print romantic section quite yet! The gist of the theme is "ugly duckling into swan", and it is a Cinderella grown up fairy story for shopaholics. It is brought to life through Metallica t-shirts and the careful application of some nail extensions. Anyone who loves credit cards and a good romance will love this. Genius!

5.0 out of 5 stars you shoudnt miss out on this ***** read!!!!, 13 April 2007
By kyla "michaela andrews" (northern ireland) - See all my reviews
i loved this book it had the famous transformation process where an ugly ducking transforms into glitzy glamour puss but then settles for an in between look.

the story line was well writen and really interesting, i found this a very down to earth book.

i have read books where they are far fetched but still interesting and some books where the story is told just how it is without exaggeration but this book has a part of both types of books in them.

i was very pleased with thhis book, it was a lovely read, and has lead me into searching for more of louise bagshaws novels!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for summer, 14 Jun 2006
I read this book because I wanted something light and easy - it is unfair to expect more from it. As such it is extremely enjoyable and good fun - just right for the beach or commute!
