Most Helpful Customer Reviews   29 of 30 people found the following review helpful: Fantastic as usual, 15 Jul 2004 By  "wee_jock" - See all my reviews Quentin Jardines Skinner stories captivate you; the storyline "weaves into a tapestry" as Skinner says about the seemingly different cases to a colleague, It all comes together at the end from the new Pope visiting Edinburgh to the death of two drummers. It is a book that you will read and say to your significant other "will just read to the end of the chapter" - never happens, you will want to read on. Buy this book! if you haven't read about DCC Skinner before - Buy them 1st. The 1st novels in the series concentrate on skinner but the later delve more and more into the lives of people around him, you feel for the characters when something tragic happen, but you will laugh, or feel happy when something good happens.
