4.0 out of 5 stars Inviting Those Who Don't To Cook, 18 April 2007
Aimed at those who wouldn't normally venture into the kitchen for anything braver than cheese on toast, this book is a good starting point for those wanna-be chefs who don't know their way round a bain-marie.

With supermarket-friendly guidance on ingredients, tips on what to look out for when cooking, and the deliberately un-scary language, you feel as if the author is a mate in your kitchen, giving you advice over your shoulder.

5.0 out of 5 stars I prefer mine blue ..., 17 April 2007

... but that's the point, I guess. Pink is simple, blue's a cinch - your beef will be anything but grey!

But it's not just the out-of-the-ordinary-made-piece-of-the-cake recipes that made the book for me. The layout is easy to follow and artwork is great too - I'd recommend to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars One for the collection ..., 28 April 2008

The author's passion for cooking is self-evident. The book is a fun addition to the cookery book shelf, just as long as it's not the only book on the shelf!
