Product Description

Synopsis
Village Cricket. It's 1932 and another epic encounter for 'The Cinders' trophy is imminent. Can Dougal Jarden devise a winning strategy for his 'Little Anglo' team as they take on the mighty Dan Badman and his all-conquering 'Upper Ausso' colleagues. He will certainly try - but can his pungent plan succeed. Perhaps with cricket's Patron Saint, the Blessed, (Bearded), Lady, Saint Grace behind them, they may emerge victorious!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sporting history rewritten., 27 April 2007
By Eric Pennyfather (Colchester, England) - See all my reviews
Cricket history rewritten in a parallel and ribald universe. The authors obvious knowledge of Englands 1932/3 tour of Australia permeates every page. The humour, although not for the faint hearted, will appeal to anyone who enjoyed THE WORLD ACCORDING TO CLARKSON (Jeremy Clarkson) or WILT (Tom Sharpe).

For cricket fans oblivious to the events of the infamous bodyline series, this book will compel you to research the details of the third test in Adelaide to understand the actual, but less comical, demolition of the boys from down under.
