This is not a book you can read at one sitting.
It is a collection of real life stories and poems about Jim's experiences with animals and people that will make you laugh and cry sometimes at the same time..it explains the deep compassion this man has for all God's creatures and i agree with another reveiwer that it should be on the shelves of all school libraries...Pittsburgh Pa USA people will enjoy his memories of growing up in this area...Pittsburgh animals and animal rescue people will feel the great loss of his prescence and support when he and his wife relocate to Europe..Jim speaks from his heart...for all animals and for all people involved with animals. Pieces of the Heart is a great book to keep by your bedside to savor one story and one poem at a time and to give as a gift! I do:-)
