If you want to learn how to differentiate one herb from another, or discover the traditional uses of common hedgerow plants, this book is a good place to start. Each entry is illustrated with a clear photograph, followed by a short description of the plant's family, habit and habitat, properties (poisonous or not!) and traditional as well as current uses. Practical advice is given on growing herbs and harvesting plants in the wild, as well as storing and using them. As a keen beginner to the world of herbs,I find that this book is an invaluable partner to the more detailed, but less well illustrated herb books available.
