4.0 out of 5 stars A fine book for the forest enthusiast, 6 Nov 2003
This book describes a unique survivor from England's past : Hatfield Forest. Most people would not notice what makes it unique, but read this book and you will understand. If you are interested in nature, woodland and English social history, you may find this a rewarding read. I learnt a lot from it. It is not exactly light reading, but if you want to go beyond "coffee table" nature books, this is one by an expert.
