Product Description

Product Description
Presenter Lorraine Kelly, and leading nutritional expert Anita Bean have written an accessible parent's guide to nutritious and appealing meals for babies and toddlers. They offer over 100 baby-friendly recipes plus creative and practical ideas, tips and hints.

From the Publisher
Lorraine Kelly is the most popular daytime television presenter in the UK, held in great affection both from her many television appearances as well as from her humourous and yet hardhitting weekly column in 'The Sun'
Teaming her with leading nutrition expert Anita Bean has resulted in a book which combines popular appeal to the widest of markets with a factual accuracy which is confidence giving to the young mother trying to do the best by her child.
Lorraine uses her own experiences as the basis for her suggestions and recommendations. Her book is firmly aimed at the constituency of women who are fans of her television shows. Lorraine believes that it is never too early to introduce healthy food habits to children but also realises that the young children's meals need to be easy on the eye as well as quick and simple to prepare. She has always balanced her busy business life with taking a serious responsibility toward bringing up her own happy and healthy children and so she knows that every minute counts!
There are more than 100 great recipe ideas here and the presentation and style makes the book a pleasure to use.
There have been baby and toddler food books before but they have tended to be aimed at a more upmarket readership.
Lorraine's down to earth sensibility ensures that this book is just perfect for the young mothers who make up such a large part of her television audience. I feel confident, therefore, that 'Lorraine Kelly's Baby and Toddler Eating Plan' will rapidly become the baby food book by which all others are measured and a huge and longlasting best seller. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a "must have" book for all Mums (Dads too !!), 18 Feb 2005
By Daphne (England U.K.) - See all my reviews
This book is essential for Mums with babies and toddlers, it is clearly written, gives preparation times, cooking times, how long each meal can be stored in the fridge and freezer and it contains meals that all the family could enjoy. I love the way the meal plans are laid out, because the thinking about what to cook takes longer and is more stressful than the actual cooking, but, with these plans and the excellent recipes the stress is taken out of the kitchen leaving more time to enjoy the little ones.
As a foster carer of babies this book is invaluable to me, no more expensive jars to buy, I know exactly what the baby is eating, meals can be tailor-made for individual babies\toddlers, meals can be prepared in advance or batch cooked and frozen. A big plus is that the meals are made with "normal" food that can be bought in "normal" supermarkets! It's the only baby receipe book I need and it will be well used. I RECOMMEND IT TO ALL MUMS (and Dads if they do the cooking!.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy recipes for stressed out mums!, 27 April 2004
This book was a godsend to me. There are so many baby cooking books onthe market that it can get very daunting to choose from, but this book isby far the best. It has quick, easy recipes that can be made simply inone pan and any extra food can be frozen and given at a later time. Ifyou're like me and can't seem to find the time to cook complicated recipesfor a hungry 7 month old then this book is your lifesaver, I recommend itto everyone I meet. I promise you won't be disappointed when buying thisfantastic book!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!, 31 Jul 2004
By A Customer
So easy to follow. Practical and straightforward. Takes you through the weaning process in stages. I found the sample daily menus especially helpfull. Also the recipes are inexpensive as there are none of the extravagant ingredients you often find in weaning books. My freezer is now packed full of various dishes and my baby loves every one (except the fish)!!
