Product Description
Synopsis
The award-winning drama follows the complex life of Tony Soprano, a family man from New Jersey who also happens to be a major player in organized crime. The author leaves nothing out: the food, the music, the dreams, the visits to the psychiatrist, the snappy one-liners - plus all the favourite characters and five stand-alone essays about the series. He analyzes every episode of the show: family values, mob violence, murderous mothers and great Italian food. Whether you're a "made-man" or a newcomer to the family, this book offers an unauthorized guide to the series.

From the Publisher
Putting Bright Lights, Baked Ziti together wasn't work - it was a total joy. A genuine fan of The Sopranos handled this book at every stage of it's production process, not least its commissioning editor. There were wrangles over the spelling of different cheeses in the series; hoots about how much trashier was it possible for Adriana to be; and intense phone calls about the authorship of individual songs in the soundtrack. Yes, we are sad about The Sopranos. We are completist and nit-picky and obsessive. And that makes for a great book. The author even has his own e-group on the web - just about the book itself.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Good Enough, 21 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Concentrated too much on trivia and not enough on the deeper themes of the Sopranos. Not enough comparison with other gangster genre work to place it in context.
