5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely essential Buffy companion!, 12 Jun 2004
Keith Topping's previous two volumes covering seasons 1-6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer have already gained a dedicated cult following among aficionadoes. Now comes the third and final volume, and worth every penny. Topping's tomes may appear small and perhaps even cheap, but once any Buffy fan starts reading this, it won't leave their bedside. Amusingly and informatively written, 'Slayer' dissects each episode of the final season, satisfyingly packed with behind-the-scenes facts, commentaries on the show's story arcs and history, not to mention running gags, pop culture references, gaffes and goofs, show analysis and a ratings system. Hard to put down and invaluable for those who can't quite let Buffy go, 'Slayer' should entertain in front of, or away from, those DVD boxsets you've already got. You haven't? They're 30 quid! Do it now!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, as to be expected..., 4 Mar 2001
By Claire Hennessy (Dublin, Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this the second I saw it in a shop, despite the fact that I had the original "Slayer" as well the official Buffy guide. Why? Because I just had to read Keith Topping's in-depth guide to Season 4 and all the books that had been released in the past year or so. The new edition of "Slayer" is actually very up-to-date, dealing with Seasons 1-4, almost all the books that have been published, current websites, and even some Season 5 info. It's the best guide to the Buffy series, even compared to the official guides or fansites. As well as a straightforward episode summary, there are categories such as "Denial, thy Name Is Joyce", "Dudes and Babes", "The Drugs Don't Work", "Bitch!", "Valley Speak", "Dreaming (as Blondie Once Said) Is Free" as well as many more and variations on these titles when needs be. There's also a detailed notes section. If you're a die-hard Buffy fan, particularly if you write fanfiction, I cannot recommend this book enough. It's a valuable resource as well as just being so much fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best on the english language market, 22 Nov 2000
By A Customer
I write books about tv-dramas (like BUFFY) for the german language market - and while I am working on a script, I read lots of books from the american market. And what I read about BUFFY disappointed me. Then I found this british book - and was really suprised. It ist the best one on english-language market. Respect!
