Product Description
Book Description
Since its debut in 1997, Ally McBeal has become a television phenomenon. The misadventures of this single female lawyer, and her attempts to get by in a world made up of weird people, have kept audiences addicted. Ally McBeal has won awards, spawned two hit soundtrack albums and even featured on the cover of Time magazine.

As well as being the essential episode-by-episode guide to all three seasons of Ally McBeal, Soul Searching takes a deeper, wittier and completely unofficial look at Ally's life and trials. Everything you could ever need or want to know is here, including all of the Fishisms, the daydreams, the office gossip and the men Ally has encountered so far. If you've wondered whether the lawyers of Cage & Fish ever lose a case, or why anyone would see a dancing baby, then this is the place to look.

Soul Searching is the complete guide for anyone who wants a bit of help finding their way around Ally's world.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book by fans, for fans, 17 Mar 2003
By A Customer
If you want a big, glossy, polished book full of lots of official pictures, then this book isn't for you. However, if you're interested in the opinions of two obsessive and observant Ally fans who've watched every episode and actually "get" the show (and let's face it, not many "Ally" commentators can say that), you'll love this little guide. More than just episode summaries, it offers interesting opinions on each episode of the first three seasons, some of which you'll agree with, some of which you'll disagree with, and some which you might not have thought about before.

Unlike any other book associated with the series, "Soul Searching" reveals the wonderfully inventive, original and well-written world of Ally McBeal and her colleagues. It's written by fans of the show, which actually means it's more critical than any official version - when David E. Kelley does good they applaud him, but if they think he could've done better they're not afraid to say so.

Personally I think an updated edition covering the fourth and fifth seasons would be interesting, but until then every "Ally McBeal" fan should have this guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for anyone who has missed the odd episode, 30 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This book details every episode for the first three seasons (ideal for those of us who still only have the regulation channels!) A great way to refresh the memory, catch up on any episodes missed and to find out little quirky bits of trivia that makes Ally McBeal the show it is. Great categories, consise information and a valuable support for an excellent show!

4.0 out of 5 stars Biased?, 24 Dec 2000

I read this book and indeed i did find it a very good companion to a very good series. But i was also left with a feeling that the person who actually wrote it must not have enjoyed the series. I thought is was more one persons opinion. I enjoyed reading it and have used it many time for reference purposes as it
