Finally an audio book publisher catches up with today's technology. Here's the complete and unabridged version of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings on 46 CDs--the only CD version that gives you every word of the novel. The superior quality of the CD format will last a lifetime and always sounds fantastic. Rob Inglis does a phenomenal job narrating the story, acting out the scenes, giving unique voices to each character, singing the poems, and capturing the British essesnce of the novel. The Lord of the Rings has never been better. I hope the movie trilogy is good, but if you're looking for the best way to experience Tolkien's original classic, then this CD box set is the way to go. Thank you ISIS for making this product and sending me the description of it before I placed my order. Thank you Amazon for giving me easy means to order items from overseas.

This set is an absolute audio delight and Rob Inglis does an incredible job. The stories themselves are completely enthralling, but with such an engaging, musical, and downright delicious voice to listen to at the same time the experience takes you to new heights. This set is a must-have for any Tolkein fan, of course, but also for any fan of theater or music or literary arts. If you feel the movies, great as they are, have left out too many things, this will make up for it and more. When listening to Rob Inglis, you are in Middle Earth. You see, smell, and hear it. Nothing is left out - not even the songs, which are beautifully and memorably sung. I will treasure this set and enjoy it many more times.
