PETERBOROUGH EVENING TELEGRAPH

'If Janet Evanovich looks in her rear view mirrors she'll see Liz Evans coming up. ...a riot'

Review

'Superb Seaside Noir. Useless but hilarious private dick Grace Smith is forced to swap the day job for an Easter Bunny costume, only to be nicked for GBH....' (MIRROR )

'If Janet Evanovich looks in her rear view mirrors she'll see Liz Evans coming up. ...a riot' (PETERBOROUGH EVENING TELEGRAPH )

'The story rushes along at a great pace, always interesting, always surprising and often laugh-out-loud funny... a great read even for those not usually attracted to the detective genre. However crime-lovers take note - this is a thoroughly good detective story which will keep you guessing till the very end' (SHERLOCK MAGAZINE )

'If you're looking for a strong female protagonist, an interesting plot or two, but with a feel-good factor and plenty of humour, look no further than CUE THE EASTER BUNNY ...one of the most enjoyable books I've read for a long time.' (Bridget Bolton TANGLED WEB )

5.0 out of 5 stars Private Investigator Grace Smith Strikes again! , 25 Feb 2007
By Anna Heelas "A Heelas" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the second Gracie Smith novel I've read, I loved this almost more than the one I read previously - 'Sick as a Parrot.'

Throughout this book, it becomes obvious to the readers, that although Grace may be a little unconventionable and a magnet for chaos and trouble, she is very good at her job! O'Hara returns as mysterious as before and Grace does her best to keep her eyes on the task. She has a poison pen letter writer to detect and on top of that, a 12 year old teenage dissapearance to shed light on and a giant bunny hopping on her at any available moment. Her cases begin to reveal hidden secrets and cover ups from the past. Gracie manages to get herself into a few scrapes - it appears that someone is desperate to stop her snooping!

This book is funny and light hearted, but at the same time is capable of springing a few suprises on the reader. It transports its audience into a world of mystery and mayhem.

Another fantastic read written by Liz Evans - 'Cue The Easter Bunny' is a comic crime mixture - it really is worth a read. It had me transfixed for 24 hrs! It contains comedy and supense messed up into one package! If you enjoy this genre, then this is the book for you! It is well written and very entertaining!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only beef I have with Liz Evans is that she doesn't write nearly fast enough for me, 16 Sep 2009
I was introduced to Liz Evan's books by a happy accident, when JFK is Missing was included in error with a purchase of several Janet Evanovich novels. I greatly enjoyed it, as I have several of her other books, and I can only say that her writing just gets better and better.

Cue the Easter Bunny is a great read which manages to combine mystery and suspense with uproar and comedy. Witty, exciting plot, engaging main characters, hilarious situations, and lots of one liners, mostly with a rabbit theme.

Grace, a PI,and sometime Easter Bunny, is refreshingly set in Seatoun, a seaside town that is probably well past its heyday, where she works her way through it all with wry humour, open self interest and professionalism.

This book is a good laugh, a good read and a great tonic.
