Sue Haasler is one of my favourite authors, writing with intelligence, wit, warmth and humour about real people in real situations. I've loved all her books and couldn't wait for True Colours, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Dealing as always with some original and unusual themes, Sue Haasler brings to vivid life the two worlds of the lighthouse family from a remote northern village and the would-be MP and his glamorous wife and smooth spin doctor in London. The pathos and humour when these two worlds meet makes this book very special indeed. True Colours is a real treat and a joy to read and the characters stay with you long, long after the last page. More please.

Having loved the last two books by this author I have been eagerly awaiting a new one. True Colours does not disappoint. With a mix of romance and political spin, loss and friendship and new hope, it was a lovely read. Full of colourful and intriguing characters, very atmospheric, beautifully written and with a gentle style and wit, I loved every moment of this book. I thoroughly recommend it and cannot wait for the next one.
