I was very much looking forward to "A Promise to Keep" by Lillian Harry, but I have to say that I didn't not really enjoy this book. The action was slow and since some of the action took place in flashback, I did have trouble keep up if I was in the present or the past. "A Promise to Keep" was a follow-up to "A Girl Called Thursday" which was a better book.

I was delighted to find this continuation of the story of Thursday and her family and friends. It is a book with all the range of emotions experienced within this group of VAD's. You are able to share in the joy and the tragedy they experience. At the end of the book I felt very sad to say 'Goodbye' to these very real people and wanted to know what happened to them in their future.

A little dissapointed with this book, not as good as A Girl Called Thursday, a little slow in some parts. But still showed how people got through their tragedys of loss during the second world war
