Product Description

Review
'On top of coming up with a gripping storyline which is far from your average whodunnit, Horton also manages to incorporate the tensions and attitudes between Bradford's Asian and white communities and the resulting problems and dilemmas, along with introducing the likable character of Inspector Handford.'

Shots
'Lesley Horton writes with sensitivity... everyone is a suspect, but Horton manages to sketch each character with a flourish that breathes life into all.' --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

1.0 out of 5 stars Snares of errors.., 1 Jun 2006

Not the most accurate of novels, intriguing tale, but a lack of insight and facts. This book lacks quality in general. A careless tome of a gritty reality, and of the ugly side of human nature.

2.0 out of 5 stars Snares of Guilt, 14 Jun 2006
I could not take this seriously, as certain Asian characters names were culturally unacceptable. The characters could not remain credable with these names, the story then ruined.

3.0 out of 5 stars Names spoil the story , 7 Aug 2007
By Se Wishart (Bradford West Yorks) - See all my reviews

Although I enjoyed this book- very easy reading, it was spoiled to a certain extent by the inaccurate Sikh and Muslim names- Amajit is a Sikh name NOT a Muslim one and Rukhsana Mahmood is a Muslim name. It seems strange that the author did not have it checked prior to publication. Perhaps if the reader has no prior knowledge of the culture or religion it would not matter and the book is worth reading.
