Robbie Coltrane: big man, big talent. Born in Rutherglen in 1950 and brought up in Glasgow, Coltrane has never fought shy of his Scottish roots while developing an extraordinary range of characters from American socialites to Russian gangsters. This is his biography.

About the Author
A journalist on the New Musical Express in the early 1970s, Neil Norman became a film critic for The Face and a reviewer of film and theatre for most film magazines and national newspapers. He joined the Evening Standard in 1986 as a film critic and feature writer. As well as biographies, he has several plays to his name which have been performed in London, Toronto and New York.
