Product Description

To mark the 25th anniversary of the birth of the antidote to the panel game, we present the pick of the limerick round. 1997/98 sees the anniversary of the legendary show I'm Sorry I Haven't a clue, the most listened to comedy programme on British radio. To celebrate this achievement we propose to publish a collection of the finest limericks from the 30 odd series. ISIHAC is an institution with regular panellists Tim Brooke Taylor, Graeme Garden, Barry Cryer and until last year Willie Rushton, overseen by jazz supremo Humphrey Lyttelton. Listener figures are now over 2 million each week and is now aired also on radio 2 the only radio comedy show to do so. Tickets are so keenly sought after shows are now held in thousand seat theatres around the country. By playing up the fogeyish qualities of the show in recent years it has attracted a substantial youth following. Guests such as Paul Merton, Stephen Fry and Jeremy Harding have also helped to bring in new ears.

About the Author

Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden, Barry Cryer, Willie Rushton, Humphrey Lyttelton. Barry Cryer's writing credits include material for Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Bruce Forsyth, Rory Bremner and Jasper Carrott, to name but a few. As if this was not enough, he has also collaboratively penned series like Hello Cheeky! and appears regularly on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, and Just a Minute. He delighted audience with his one-man show The First Farewell Tour. He was made an OBE for services to comedy in 2001. Doctor Graeme's Aberdonian roots are dyed a pleasing flesh colour. In 1968, while waiting in a queue for treatment at King's College Hospital, London, Graeme carelessly qualified as a doctor. Fame eluded him with The Goodies and the original idea for I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue was Graeme's, but he generously refuses to take all the blame.

5.0 out of 5 stars hilarious antics from these wonderful radio 4 personalities, 10 Jul 2001
By A Customer
I'm sorry I haven't a clue - advertised as the antidote to panel games cannot fail to make you crease up with laughter. This extensive collection of series 1-3 is possibly some of the finest comedy to be recorded on tape. It includes such classics as 'Mornington Crescent', lines to kill a date, sing a song using words from another song and many other zany games. These tapes contain some of the most memorable one-liners I have ever heard and the quick responses of the panellists are incredible.

Very highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest thing ever to be broadcast!, 5 Jun 2001

If you have ever listened to ISIHAC on the radio you will already know what a gem of a show this is. Humphrey Lyttleton excels as host and the panellists are excellent too. Be wary about listening to this in your car because it will make you laugh so much! It's just a shame there arent more of the episodes available to buy considering there have been 37 series.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the funniest show in the world, 19 Nov 2000
Four shows which demonstrate just how good comedy can be. For those who don't know about Mornington Crescent, Samantha the scorer, Sven the Swedish hunk and of course Tim, Willie, Graeme and Barry, this will enlighten you. Oh and Humph too - surely the Godfather of Radio 4. You might even discover how to play One Song to the Tune of Another - it's actually easier than it sounds. It usually ends with a load of Balls. So please welcome Mr and Mrs Zondotcodotuk and their daughter Emma Zondotcodotuk...
