Product Description

Product Description

Two women - once friends at Oxford - and a diamond mine in Vietnam are the bait that M16 hope will ensnare businessman-villain Robie Frazer. Frazer s business interests are multi-national and his wealth extraordinary. But he has become corrupt, selling arms to the Chinese, extorting what he needs from people by violence and blackmail. Eva Cunningham, undercover agent-turned-heroin-junkie, has reason to hate Fraser And her old friend Cassie Stewart, now a high-flying venture capitalist in the City, also finds herself involved in the game to trap Frazer. A game which will end in a terrifying hunt-to-kill pursuit in the jungles of Vietnam.

From the Author

In International Finance & Espionage is Truth an Illusion?
Eva Cunningham, an undercover agent and former junkie, sets out to trap Robie Frazer, a businessman at the heart of a twisted maze of drug and arms smuggling, with the unwitting aid of a friend from university days, Cassie Stewart, a high-flying venture capitalist in the City of London. The bait is a diamond mine in Vietnam for which Cassie can provide finance with the aid of contacts in the Vancouver Stock Exchange, but as the action moves from London to the Vietnamese jungle, Eva finds herself in the role first of the lure and then the quarry, trapped in a wilderness of mirrors where she does not know who is friend and who is foe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, 24 Aug 2001
By A Customer
This is a very cleverly written book bringing together the worlds of several very different individuals who up until this point have only really brushed shoulders. The basis of the storyline is the revenge that Eva Cunningham needs to fulfil upon Robie Frazer, a man who uses the mask of being an incredibly successful businessman to disguise the fact he is simply a glorified drugs baron. She is an incredibly independent woman working for MI6 living for the desire to destroy him. Eva calls upon her old college friend Cassie Stewart to unwittingly help her to do this. Cassie up until this point has been leading an almost sheltered existence, extracting her thrills from the monetary risks she takes at work but leaving it there to go home to her nice safe home. All their lives change as they become involved with one another to invest in a seemingly legitimate diamond mine. The book really makes you feel that you are seeing through the eyes of each character as they go through the trauma and thrill of the dangers they end up having to face. Unfortunately it does take quite a few chapters to really get into the book but although slow they do create feeling of curiosity around each character and at no point will you want to put this book down!

2.0 out of 5 stars Plot reflects badly in the wilderness, 2 Jan 2007
By Jay "The Amazon Reviewer" (Mauritius) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
I read this book after having read 'Nest of Vipers'. I was disappointed. The plot seemed to plod and did seem to be lost in some sort of Wilderness. The characterization starts off well but then reflects badly in the title...good pun
